Welcome to the Volunteer Value Calculator!Much of what volunteers bring to organizations cannot be counted or measured such as their generosity and commitment. There may be times, however, when it would be useful to measure at least some aspect of volunteer contributions. The Volunteer Value Calculator is designed to assist you in measuring the economic contribution of volunteers. The Volunteer Value Calculator cannot determine all the value that volunteers add to your organization, but it will provide you with an estimate of the economic value of their contributions. The Volunteer Value Calculator is a new, easy-to-use, online tool designed to help you calculate the economic value of the volunteers at your organization. The Volunteer Value Calculator is based on work done for the International Year of Volunteers on calculating the economic value of volunteers. If you would like to read this background material, you may download a copy of the manual "Assigning economic value to volunteer activity: eight tools for efficient program management / Michelle Goulbourne, Don Embuldeniya. Toronto: Canadian Centre for Philanthropy; Volunteer Canada, 2002."
